About Pokemon Awakening
Choose order or chaos as an apprentice to Sage Addae, raised beside your brother and connected to the mysterious D. Moon grimoire. Pokémon Awakening takes place in Angard, with branching story paths, a class and job system, relationships, overworld encounters, timed actions, local legends, and multiple endings. KidFates created this completed Version 1.0 RPGXP game in English, Spanish, and Chinese. Recruit Legendaries, Angels, and Demons while uncovering the Holy War.

Pokémon Awakening is a completed RPG Maker XP fangame with an official English build, alongside Spanish and Chinese downloads. It is not a ROM patch: use its own game archive, and note that the separately listed Awakening II is still a demo.
Before you start
- Do not look for a ROM patch. Awakening is made in RPG Maker XP. The creator’s site hosts the complete game separately in Spanish, English and Chinese; the English release is a RAR archive.
- Use the creator’s download page, not a pre-packed ROM download. It also links an official PDF for Legendary Pokémon locations and a tier list.
- Try the standard executable first. The site says it runs fullscreen. If loading is a problem, use
GameAlter, the alternative executable; it cannot run fullscreen.
Who it’s for
This fits players after a long, choice-led RPG Maker XP fangame rather than a game to patch onto a cartridge ROM. The official site describes more than 40 hours for each route, so choosing order or chaos is a substantial commitment rather than a short branch. It is a poorer fit if you want the next chapter immediately: Pokémon Awakening II is currently a demo, while Awakening I is the completed game.
Version history
- v1.1 — announced by KidFates on 26 Sep 2025, described as adding more content.
- v1.0 — the completed Awakening I release promoted through the official Eevee Expo thread in April 2025.
If you liked it
- Pokémon Rejuvenation — another RPGXP fangame for players who want a longer story-driven game.
- Pokémon Empyrean — another completed RPGXP fangame rather than a patched cartridge-ROM hack.

Pokemon Awakening: common questions
- Do I need a Pokémon ROM to play Awakening?
- No base ROM is listed. The official release is made with RPG Maker XP and the creator distributes the complete game as its own archive, rather than as an IPS, BPS, UPS or xdelta patch.
- Which version is current?
- v1.1 is the latest public version found: KidFates announced it on 26 September 2025 and described it as adding more content.
- Is there an English version?
- Yes. The creator's download page has separate Spanish, English and Chinese links for Pokémon Awakening I; the official English Google Drive file is named Pokémon Awakening ENG.rar.
- Which executable should I use if the game struggles to load?
- The creator says the default executable runs fullscreen. If a computer has trouble loading it, use GameAlter instead; that fallback does not support fullscreen.
- Is Pokémon Awakening II included?
- No. The creator lists Pokémon Awakening I as the complete game and Pokémon Awakening II separately as a demo, with its own download links.
