About Pokémon D.W.
Pokémon D.W., short for Deserted Wasteland, drops you into a largely open-world town with freedom to roam as you choose. The central objective is escape, achieved by defeating the main guard in a Pokémon battle. Its darker material may not suit every player. The design favours wandering without making previous areas trivial: opponents scale to keep exploration viable. Trade evolutions are handled by applying their relevant evolution item instead of arranging a trade. The non-jam edition also introduces scientists in the underground, an additional character in Waste Forest, easier overall progression and visual updates. The escape route hinges on the guard battle.
What's in it
- A mostly open-world town to explore freely
- An escape objective resolved through the main guard battle
- Level scaling for continued exploration
- Item-based alternatives for trade evolutions
- Scientists in the D.W. Underground
- An extra character in Waste Forest
