About Pokemon Fire Red “Hardcore Challenge”
Permanent loss for fainted Pokémon, strict level caps, and no battle medicine make Pokémon FireRed Hardcore Challenge an unforgiving FireRed rule set. Hack Lab created this completed English GBA hack from Pokémon FireRed, version 2.0. Blacking out deletes the save, battles use Set style, and every Gym Leader and Elite Four member has six Pokémon. Trainer AI is amplified, damage rolls favor opponents, and speed ties are always lost.
What's in it
- A blackout deletes the save and resets the game.
- Fainted Pokémon must be released.
- Set battle style is forced, so you cannot switch before the opponent sends out a Pokémon.
- EV grinding is removed.
- All Pokémon have IVs from 0 to 1.
- Experience can be disabled until a badge so Pokémon cannot exceed Gym Leader levels.
- Your damage always uses the lowest roll while opponents use the highest.
- You always lose speed ties.
- Medicine, stat-raising items, and Berries cannot be used in battle.
- Every Gym Leader has six Pokémon.
- Every Elite Four member has six Pokémon.
- All trainers use amplified AI.
- Money gain is drastically reduced.
- Happiness evolution requires 99% rather than 87%.
