About Pokemon Following Renegade Platinum (NDS) ROM
A following Pokémon joins you through a harder, heavily revised Sinnoh adventure. Pokémon Following Renegade Platinum is a completed v2.0 NDS hack of Platinum by Henry Van Patten. All 493 Pokémon are available, while wild Pokémon, trainer teams, boss battles, in-game trades, and some TMs have been changed. The Fairy type is included, base stats follow Sun and Moon, and trade evolutions now happen by leveling up. Faster gameplay, a higher shiny rate, and new special events and NPCs round out the revised journey.

A v2.0 community integration distributed as patches for Platinum build 3541 or an unmodified, complete Renegade Platinum 3541 install. The trade-off is patch-chain risk: the creator does not guarantee compatibility with add-ons from other sources, and recommends backing up an existing save first.

Before you patch
- Start from Platinum 3541 and apply
FollowingRenegadePlatinum3541for the full integration. The alternativeAddFollowingPlatinumToRenegade3541is for a clean, complete Renegade Platinum 3541 install; it is not for the Classic version. - Use an XDelta patcher. The creator recommends Delta Patcher 2.0.1 and says the patched title screen should show Renegade Platinum with a paw print in the corner.
- Back up an existing save before changing ROMs. A Renegade save should usually transfer, but a vanilla Platinum save can trigger unexpected behaviour because Renegade changed game flags.
Known caveats
The creator does not claim the integration is bug-free. v2.0 fixed the crash caused by losing to Aaron before Hearthome City, and applied that workaround to Battleground and Type Master fights too. Be careful with third-party add-ons: the creator could not confirm v2.0 compatibility for the linked shiny-rate/speed-up/ICV patches, and warns that other external patches may not work.

- The creator's recommended route starts with a vanilla Pokémon Platinum 3541 ROM and applies FollowingRenegadePlatinum3541. There is also AddFollowingPlatinumToRenegade3541 for an unmodified, complete (not Classic) Renegade Platinum 3541 ROM.
- What patcher does it use?
