Smarter AI, a physical/special/status split, and Dark, Steel, and Fairy types make Pokémon Red++ a broad modernization of Pokémon Red. Mateo's completed English GBC hack, version 3.0.2, adds breeding, shiny Pokémon, gender selection, newer evolutions, updated attacks and move pools, and revised type matchups. It also improves movement with running shoes and faster Surf and cycling, while every Pokémon can be obtained without trading.
