Hundreds of new Shiny designs and greatly increased Shiny odds make Pokémon Sparkling Red a collector-focused FireRed rework. Hangry's English GBA version 0.5.3 makes every non-Legendary Generation 3 National Pokédex Pokémon obtainable before the Elite Four. Routes, trainers, encounters, TMs, HMs, Gym Leaders, Elite Four members, and teams have all been reworked. A new rival uses non-Kantonian Pokémon, and extra areas add species normally unavailable before the Elite Four. Trade and friendship evolutions use alternative requirements, while gym towns provide dedicated experience-training areas.
