Scaled Johto Gyms and a separate Kanto League make Pokémon Crystal Legacy a deeper take on its original journey. This completed GBC hack by TheSmithPlays, based on Pokémon Crystal in English, is version 1.3.1. Its trainers and level curve are reworked for steadier progression, while Johto encounters include more Pokémon that were previously confined to Kanto. Kanto has its own league challenge, ending in an Elite Four rematch before Red. The game also revises types, move pools, items, Team Rocket scenes, and quality-of-life systems. After becoming Johto Champion, Gym Leader rematches and Trainer House battles extend the adventure.

• Chuck, Pryce, and Jasmine use teams that scale around five, six, or seven badges.
• Gym Leaders use more Generation 2 Pokémon, varied move sets, held items, and retain their signature Pokémon.
• A smoother level curve with larger Trainer teams for more experience.
• Broader Pokémon availability, diversified encounters, easier evolution access, restored fossils and GS Ball, and every Legendary catchable.
• Dark is Physical, Ghost is Special, with rebalanced move pools, moves, and selected Pokémon stats.
• Expanded shop inventories, including Berries, Stones, Ethers, evolution items, and TMs, while X Items cannot be bought.
• Revised story scenes for Silver, Lance, Team Rocket, and Kanto's missing Legendary Pokémon.
• Unique Pokémon sprites, Running Shoes, a bigger Bag, early Exp. Share, HM deletion, weather display, faster friendship evolutions, and bug fixes.
• Rematch Johto Gym Leaders after becoming Johto Champion.
• Kanto functions as its own league, with six-Pokémon Gym teams and an Elite Four rematch before Red.
• Battle Smith, Craig, and Weebra in the Trainer House.
