A 500-species Pokédex spanning Generations 1-9 and original Fakemon makes this Emerald adventure a broad collection quest. Pokémon Emerald Z is a completed GBA hack of Emerald by Z-nogyroP, version 1.2.0. It adds new moves, Abilities, the Fairy type, and the physical/special split, while avoiding Mega Evolution and other battle gimmicks. Gym Leaders and Elite Four members are rearranged, most Pokémon can be found before the third Gym, and the Regi ruins are open from the start with new puzzles. The adventure reaches the Champion, but its post-game is unavailable.

• There are no level caps or competitive movesets; Trainer AI is generally smarter and a secret post-game boss is included.
