Custom sprites, a four-biome Safari Zone, following Pokémon, and a restored Kanto give Pokémon Sour Crystal a substantial Crystal overhaul. SoupPotato's completed English GBC hack keeps the roster to the original 251 Pokémon while updating stats, moves, movepools, battle colours, and animations. Challenge Mode is selectable at the start, and revised rematches make training more rewarding. Johto gains some formerly postgame encounters, while Kanto returns to its Generation 1 scale with Headbutt trees and routes and trainers from HeartGold/SoulSilver. Linking Cords and held evolution items provide alternatives to trade evolutions.
