About Pokemon ASCII Battle Game
Pokémon ASCII Battle Game is a text-based fan game that recreates first-generation battles through ASCII artwork. Players choose a character, pick from all 151 original Pokémon and work through four ranks. It suits anyone after compact one-on-one fighting rather than an overworld adventure. Battles offer more than 300 attacks, supported by sound effects across types including Fire, Water, Electric and Psychic. The package also includes C# source code for building text-based battle projects, a collection of Pokémon ASCII art through Generation 5, and more than 300 sounds covering cries and attack effects from Generations 1 to 5.
